His Grace Bishop Maxim earned his doctorate from the University of Athens’ in the field of Dogmatics and Patristics in 1999. He is a professor of Patristics and Hagiology at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, University of Belgrade, as well as at the St. Sava School of Theology in Libertyville, Illinois. In 2006, he was elected bishop of the Western American Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America. His research interests include Holy Fathers, Saints, iconography. Besides numerous scholarly articles, his bibliography includes two recently published books: History, Truth, Holiness (Los Angeles, Sebastian Press: 2011) and Holiness: Divine and human. Theological-Historical Exploration of the Holy, Holiness and Saints in the Church (Beograd: 2010, in Serbian).
